Happy Birthday!

Welcome to Maisie's blog...a way for you to watch Maisie grow.

For this first post - here are a few of our favorites from her first week.

Mom's last pregnant photo (at the time we had no idea we'd be headed to the hospital only 2 hours later)
Maisie came two weeks early, sending us scrambling to the hospital at midnight on Thursday April 10/Friday April 11th. Lucky for us, Brian had returned from a day trip to Dallas at 9pm...in time to chauffeur us to the hospital!

In labor and still making funny faces (hallelujah for epidurals!!) Maisie Danielle Moncrief officially joined us at 9:18 am.

For those who are wondering about her name: Maisie is just a name that Brian and I really liked and her middle name is in honor of her great grandfather (my Popop) Daniel Buckman. Popop - can't wait for you to meet your "princess"!

Do you think the new mom and dad are smitten with their little girl?

Maisie is tall and skinny - some might even say she has "chicken legs"! She's 20 inches long (pretty average for full term babies), but weighed in at only 5 lbs, 14 oz. Maisie is already proving she has her parents' appetites, having achieved 6 lbs, 5 oz by her one week checkup.

While the staff at Texas Woman's hospital was fantastic....we were glad to get out of there!

And welcome Maisie home...
