Get a grip...

Our little darling has quite a grip! Maisie has not started grabbing at her toys yet. In fact, the only thing she seems to like to grab is my hair! But, if you put anything in her hands she'll definitely hold on. Here she is, holding on for dear life to her activity mat:

Visiting Louisiana

For the past week, Maisie and I have been visiting my family and friends in Shreveport, Louisiana. Maisie was an angel on the trip over - sleeping most of the time and making it easy on me (I did the 4 hour drive by myself while Brian was in Europe for work).

We spent the weekend at Dad's house, visiting with the Baskind side of the family and celebrating Dad's first Father's Day as a grandfather. I get the sense that my Dad's is pretty excited about being a grandfather...If I had any questions, the LSU nightgown he bought for Maisie cleared that up! As did his tendency to walk around with her in the front yard...hoping that the neighbors would be out walking and ask him about his little grand-daughter!

Isn't she cute?!?!?

For the second part of the week, we visited my Mom. Enjoyed the downtime, hanging out around the house. Lots of cute pictures, but here are my favorites

2 months already!

Well, Maisie turns 2 months old this week. Its AMAZING how fast time has gone by and how much she's grown and changed. She's smiling and making all sorts of baby sounds these days. And, even letting us sleep a little bit (we got almost 7 hours both nights this weekend). We go to the doctor for her first shots this week and to get an update on her height/weight and other progress (at a recent visit to a friends house she tipped their baby scale at 10 lbs 12 oz).

In the meantime, Maisie has been busy hanging out with our friends and family...

Hard to imagine these are the same guys who used to drink LOTS of beer together in College Station :)
