At last....the Birthday Blog.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAISIE!!!

So, we've gotten a bit of a hard time for failing to get Maisie's first birthday posted on the blog. I know there is no excuse, but lets just say we've had computer issues and been just little bit busy the last two months.

Maisie's 1st birthday weekend was great. She had so many people in town to see her...Nanna Sandy, Pop and Anne, her GGs, Aunt Julie and Uncle Ken. And of course her Houston family Grandma Lois and Barry, and Papa and Grammy joined in the celebration.

Here are some of the highlights. The full set of pictures is available though the link at the bottom:

Why are we clapping? Well....let's just say, you do what you gotta do to get a smile. In an effort to get Maisie to smile for the camera, Brian was throwing the ball for Mandy (because Maisie LOVES watching her chase it)...and managed to throw the ball over the fence instead. We're all saying "YAY"!!

The FIRST picture of the birthday girl on her big day. Still in her jammies!

MMM.. the first bite of birthday cake. In fact the first bite of any kind of cake, ever. If she's anything like mom, it wont' be the last:

Maisie got a bunch of bows with all the cute outfits she received for her birthday. We decided she needed to wear them all at once!

Maisie got some many gifts from all her family and had a great time opening them all:

And here are the rest - Enjoy!!

She such a ham!

Maisie definitely likes to ham it up for the camera. In fact, I'm convinced she now smiles when we are taking pictures.

We are headed up to Dallas this weekend for Brian to play in a lacrosse tournament and to spend some quality time with aunts and cousins. Hopefully these will tide you over until we return:

Maisie shopping with mom and dad at home depot (picking out a new kitchen sink!):

Using the tupperware as a hat (i swear she took it on and off 20 times and thought it was hysterical each time):

Its official - she's a toddler...

Well, we knew it was coming. She's officially walking.

And Miriam bought her some rubber bands for pigtails - so cute.

Our little girl is growing up!

I just realized that I never posted a link to the March photos....there are some super-cute ones in here (even if they are 6 weeks old). Enjoy!

Bridging the gap

We know, we know. We are sorely behind on posting pictures. And the computer is still not fixed so you'll have to continue to wait a little longer for the birthday extravaganza pictures. Hopefully these few from the past couple of weeks will help bridge the gap.

Maisie gets more fun with every passing day. She loves trying to walk...she'll go anywhere as long as you let her hold onto both of your hands and is starting to get comfortable walking while only hanging onto one hand....any day know she'll strike out on her own. As can be expected, she's getting into everything - loves the stacked mixing bowls, pulling toilet paper off the roll, changing the channel with the remote control - you name it.

Today we are off to attend Maisie's first birthday party, for her friend Carly who is turning one. Yay cake!

Just about the only time Maisie will sit still is to eat...and even then she sometimes prefers having her bottle standing up. Here she is having a bottle with dad:

Maisie can stand up without pulling up on anything now. We turn around and she's just hanging out in the middle of the room, like this:

Bathtime is always funtime! Dad in particular enjoys the hair-washing process, as you can see below:

A favorite pasttime - emptying out the cabinets, stacking and re-stacking the bowls...what fun!!

I'm so proud of my daddy!

Yesterday was a big day in our house....I could tell because my dad was walking around in a pretty blue gown and a funny-looking hat. Mom said it had something to do with "GRADUATING". I'm not sure exactly what that means, but it sounds like a big accomplishment and something important, and I sure am proud of him!!
